Bulls absorb remaining two years of Claxton's contract in multi-team trade

The Chicago Bulls have acquired center Nic Claxton in a multi-team trade, absorbing the remaining two years of his contract into more than $23 million in cap space for essentially nothing in return.

Chicago allowed the fourth-most points in the paint per game in 2025-26 and the most the season before.

Claxton has not matched his efficient two-way form of 2023 since, though last season with the Brooklyn Nets pointed back up.

He was paid like the 67th player and produced like the 85th, per WAGE.

His WAGE Score rose to 61 from 45 a year earlier, Going Rate.

The cap space buys that rebound, not the 2023 version, with a guaranteed year added to the books in 2027.
