Duren faces Thursday deadline on Pistons qualifying offer

Jalen Duren is weighing whether to sign his qualifying offer before Thursday's deadline, with no contract extension agreed with the Detroit Pistons.

Pistons president Trajan Langdon addressed the extension at NBA media day. The center played 70 of the team's 82 games in 2025-26.

Last season Duren was paid like the 215th player in the league and produced like the 3rd, a WAGE Score of 97 in the Steal! tier, per WAGE.

His salary was 3% of the Pistons' payroll against 18% of the team's production.

Signing the qualifying offer keeps that rate for one more season. A long-term extension would put a price closer to what that production has been.
