Rockets extend Amen Thompson for what he already delivers
Amen Thompson has signed a five-year contract extension with the Houston Rockets.
The deal comes in the same summer Thompson publicly addressed doubts about his shooting. In 2025-26 he carried 19% of Houston's production across 79 of 82 games, with the jumper still in question.
Last season he was paid like the 166th player in the league and produced like the 5th, per WAGE: a WAGE Score of 95, in the Steal! tier.
The extension pays for production Houston already gets. Any jumper he adds is the return the five years have yet to show.
